Few places in Dublin compare to Number 31.
This old coach house in a discreet mews near St Stephen's Green has loads of style and doesn't take itself too seriously. Noel's friendly professionalism keeps the atmosphere fun and upbeat - he knows the personal touch in an anonymous city makes all the difference.
Stay in the coach house with its funky 1960s design, sunken black leather banquettes and modern art, or take a room in the more demure setting of a Georgian townhouse reached by a connecting garden - you can come and go from either side. As someone once said, this place has a split personality to suit all tastes.
The townhouse contains some huge rooms with original cornicing and plasterwork that Deirdre has transformed with a designer's eye. My favourite room was a cosy den in the coach house with a secluded patio. Attention to detail and a genuine enjoyment of what they do make the Comers wonderful hosts. Children over ten welcome. Secure parking.
