The Castleford Project is romping towards completion with eight of the 11 schemes are now either complete or underway, with good progress towards those remaining.

Complete schemes include:

  • The first phase of developing a new gallery and exhibition space at 2 Sagar Street, Castleford (pictured below)
  • New Fryston Village Green (pictured below)
  • Cutsyke childrens' play forest (pictured below courtesy Pontefract and Castleford Express)
  • The first phase of development of community park The Green at Ferry Fryston where children and families are now enjoying a new imaginative play area (pictured below)
  • Wilson Street – first phase of improvements to this residential/retail town centre street (pictured below)
  • Town Centre improvement scheme
  • Relocation of the outdoor market
  • Replacement of the Tittle Cott underpass (pictured below)

    Underway are:

  • Tittle Cott underpass to be further enhanced by a distinctive landscape design scheme

    Still to come:

  • Sagar Street enhancement scheme
  • The new river bridge
  • Riverside enhancement strategy
