- Feet can look old if not looked after properly and the hard flaky skin on Jayne’s soles was certainly not adding youth to her look. Her feet were therefore treated and insoles were prescribed for her shoes, to hopefully maintain soft and youthful looking feet.

Andrew Barton, Stylist at Saks Hair & Beauty
- Jayne’s main issue was her colour: 10 years of colouring her grey hair had left Jayne with a major build up of product.
- Colouring grey hair like Jayne’s is a big commitment – the roots will need doing every 3-4 weeks. Having multiple colours put in would complicate this so simple is best. Andrew chose a single colour to keep the hair looking sophisticated and shiny.
- The eyebrows are a good indication of the natural hair colour.
- Summer is not the best time to colour hair so remember to protect it by using products containing an SPF.
- The idea that all women need to cut their hair as they age is a myth, the key is to have hair looking healthy and full of vitality. Andrew opted to keep Jayne’s length as it suited her face shape.
Ruby Hammer, Make-up Artist
- The way you apply makeup is often more important than the products you use. Ruby worked with Jayne’s own products, showing her the best way to use the makeup she already had.
- Starting with a good base is really important. Ruby shaped Jayne’s eyebrows to throw light on her face and provide a lift to her eyelids.
- Even fair haired women have some facial hair. Ruby used bleach to lighten Jayne’s – it’s less painful than plucking and cheaper than electrolysis.
- Ruby introduced Jayne to a water based foundation for the summer. It will last all day unlike oil based products which are liable to melt away in the heat.
- Don’t feel you have to cover your whole face with foundation, simply address problem areas such as the T-zone or any red patches.
- A liquid concealer works best to hide dark circles. Pat it in with the ring finger to avoid damaging the delicate eye area – never rub!
- Ruby used brushes to apply Jayne’s make up producing a sheerer, fresher finish.
