Retro reject Marilyn Cooke loves nothing more than backcombing her 80s hairdo and then cementing it in place with 2 giant cans of hairspray a week – trouble is she’s been doing it for 25 years.
Marilyn has also spent most of her life hammering the sun beds too, leaving her with skin to rival a leather handbag and wrinkles so deep even Mr Stanek was surprised. Couple that with her oversized, ill-fitting dentures and it’s no wonder people stop and stare in the street.
But never one to fade into the background, Marilyn certainly looks anything but frumpy at 50. She’s slamming her fist securely on the mutton button with velour, sequins and lurex – can this garish granny really be transformed into a gorgeous grandma? Of course - and the result is truly fresh, fashionable and fabulous.
