Divorcee Pandora Ankers from Leicestershire was old, free and single and certainly in need of a sprinkling of festive fairy dust.

Fifty-two-year-old Pandora was paying the price of a 20-a-day smoking habit which had prematurely aged her. That’s 200,000 fags over 30 years.

She has lost her teeth, had the complexion of concrete and the hair and wardrobe of a pensioner.

Pandora was desperately seeking Mr Right but couldn’t even look a man in the eye, she felt so bad about her appearance. To find out just how old she looked Pandora headed along to a singles night and asked 100 love-seekers to estimate her age. The news wasn’t good: they put her at 59.

So, top of her list for Santa was a bit of festive nip-and-tuck and an all-round overhaul. Style queen Nicky Hambleton-Jones dressed her in the latest trends to get her mistletoe-fit, and with a brand new face she was transformed from drab to fab. It really was a spectacular transformation which resulted in Pandora dropping a decade and a half in her final poll.

Andrew Barton Stylist at Saks Hair & Beauty

Firstly, Andrew applied a deep root conditioning treatment to improve the hair’s straw like texture and give it a youthful sheen.

Andrew opted for a layered bob to give Pandora a totally new, fresh look -removing layers of dried hair in the process.

A nourishing colourant was used to make the hair shinier and healthier.

Andrew applied lighter tones around her face and darker tones underneath – all autumnal shades to bring out the new freshness in Pandora’s skin.

Make-up

Ruby Hammer Make-up Artist

Ruby began by using a good base of foundation. Applying this first allowed her to see clearly any areas which needed highlighting, for example the area around the eyes.

To add definition, Ruby used a thin line of eyeshadow along the top lid and under the eye. She chose a dark brown eyeshadow for Pandora, to bring out the green in her eyes.

She used a lighter colour to emphasise Pandora’s brows – this really helps frame the eyes.

TOP TIP: When using mascara, apply more to the outer corner to give a more flirty look.

Ruby finished off the look with a soft pink lip gloss to create fuller, more youthful looking lips.
