Episode 2 – Jackie Robinson - Christmas Special

Poll Age (before makeover) - 48

Poll Age (after makeover) - 35

Real Age - 37

37-year-old Jackie Robinson was horrified when 100 supermarket shoppers added over 10 years onto her age. She hadn’t realised just how much the years of wearing herself out as a forklift truck driver, caring for two young children and until recently, a 20-a-day cigarette habit had aged her beyond her years.

Jackie had added to her problems with her novel approach to a beauty regime: bleach on her hands, body hair remover on her face and, in the past, household cleaner to brush her teeth... but only on special occasions.

Things weren’t much better in the fashion department. She was permanently attached to one of the biggest crimes against womankind, the ill-fitting comfy fleece.

Jackie had a lower face lift and eye lifts, as well as Botox to help her excessive sweating problem. She had veneers on her teeth and carried out a home whitening treatment to get those pearlies sparkling.

Her hair, badly damaged by constant dyeing was brightened with a gentle semi-permanent colour and cut into a flattering long layered shape.

Jackie had the following treatments, and wore the following outfits to complete her new look:

Treatments

Cosmetic Surgery

Mr Jan Stanek Surgical Aesthetics

  • Lower face lift
  • Upper/lower blepharoplasty(excess skin from eyelids and eyebags removed)
  • Otoplasty (ear reshaping)
  • Rhinoplasty(nose surgery)
  • Botox (for sweating – underarms and face)

  • Dentistry

    Dr Surinder Hundle Dentist

  • Home whitening on lower teeth
  • Veneers on upper teeth

  • Hair

Andrew Barton Stylist at Saks Hair & Beauty

  • Jackie’s hair was badly damaged from years of using home hair colorants, Andrew tested a small piece of Jackie’s hair with ammonia to see how extensive the damage was – the hair broke easily, meaning that further colouring could result in Jackie’s hair breaking at the ends.
  • Because of this Andrew opted for a gentle semi-permanent colour that added shine and lustre to the hair.
  • Jackie has great cheekbones so Andrew cut the hair into a strong shape to show them off and then softened the look by adding a fringe.
  • TOP TIP – Home colours are a great idea but remember to follow the instructions 100%. Never leave them on for longer than the recommended time.

  • Make-up

    Ruby Hammer Make-up Artist

  • Ruby recommended Jackie use a pre-moisturiser for 6 months to improve the texture of her skin. This should be followed by a moisturiser from the same brand applied with gentle but firm movements.
  • She used a brush to apply foundation just where Jackie needed it, working from the centre of the face outwards. This was set with a loose powder.
  • As Jackie has beautiful green eyes Ruby chose a contrasting eyeshadow to make a feature of them.
  • Jackie used to apply blusher under the cheek bones which made her look too hard, Ruby showed Jackie how to apply a wash of colour over the apples of her cheeks for a softer look.
  • Ruby finished the look with a lip gloss for a soft feminine look.
  • TOP TIP - To combat sweat throughout the day use blotting paper or even grease proof paper to remove excess shine.
