Andrew’s top 5 anti-aging hair tips:
- Don’t stick with the same safe hairstyle year in year out. This will age your look as it is stuck in another decade, and you won’t get any fashion bonus points either.
- It’s important as you mature to still be fashion aware regarding your hair. However, you should not become a victim or slave to hair trends. Be influenced by current trends but stamp you own individual personality onto it.
- Beauty Editors are constantly asking me if long hair should be chopped off at 40. For me, women should feel confident, sexy and attractive and if that means long hair, then that’s fine. It must be kept in great condition, have a fabulous colour, and cut in a flattering shape round the face rather than hanging like curtains! Even Demi Moore can’t get away with one length and centre parting anymore!
- If the hair is short, avoid hard, sharp, angular lines. Even if it’s a crop, go for soft and flattering – think Sharon Stone.
- My pet hate is hair fixed in a style within an inch of its life! My Andrew Barton Shiny Happy Hair Hold It Right There Hairspray is soft and light. Hair should be free, loose and casual.
