Stand tall and make your clothes work for you -
Maintaining your Posture

Say goodbye to the winter of heavy clothing, extremities stiffened by the cold and drooping shoulders. An upright posture and trained core muscles keep the body and soul in good spirits. Re-energise and follow the tips to keep your body flexible all year round.

Exercises for support muscles

Stand tall

Get in the press-up position, support yourself on your elbows instead of on your hands, keeping your shoulders down. Make sure that your body forms a straight line and does not sag or arch like a bridge. Your shoulders and your neck should be straight, not up or down. In alternating movements, lift each foot slightly above the ground and then slowly count to 20. For a more advanced level of fitness, slightly raise and lower each leg to reinforce the effect. From your shoulders along your back and stomach and rear end, you are simultaneously training the most important parts of your supporting muscles.

Excellent posture every day

Stand tall

Here are a few tricks to make everyday activities much easier, and protect and strengthen your posture without any effort in the process. It’s best to lift heavy loads from the knees with a straight back. Also, use both arms evenly for lighter loads across longer distances. And make sure to relax your shoulders, so they don’t cramp up.

Working for a longer period in a sitting position is more demanding on the body than you might think. It’s best to sit with your knees, rear end and back each in a 90-degree angle to one another. While working at a desk, your lower arms should lie lightly on the tabletop so that the elbows are again bent in a 90-degree angle and can freely move under the shoulders. Stand up every once in a while, this helps to relax the muscles.

Your voice is good for your posture

Stand tall

It’s amazing but true. Singing and voice exercises help you maintain an optimal posture. Looser musculature, upright position and deep breathing make your voice sound fuller and more pleasant. It is best to stand up for this exercise. Breathe in and out from your stomach so that your stomach rises and lowers. Look straight ahead. Speak or sing and then change your posture so that your voice sounds the most relaxed and fullest. Then you have found your optimal position.
