The Treacle People
THE TREACLE PEOPLE: SERIES ONE

Episode 1: Treacle Trouble
As the story starts, times are hard for the Treacle People. The once great treacle mines of Northern England are running dry and the treacle industry is in trouble. Things look bleak for Professor Baines-Pilling, inventor of the world's first treacle-powered engine and all the others who depend on the sticky stuff for a living. That's until Rosie and Wizzle, the local youngsters, enter the scene. Armed with just a simple treacle divining stick, they chance upon untold riches... But will the good luck last, or will the Treacle People come to a sticky end?

Episode 2: The Great Escape
Having discovered treacle in the mines, our sticky heroes also discover that they can't get out. However, thanks to the Professor, two old mine-carts and a sack full of bubbles, all is not lost….

Episode 3: Trouble at t'mill
Uncle Silas discovers that Rosie and Wizzle are better employed being unemployed, when they go in search of a job for the school holidays. The great treacle mines of Sabden roar into life, then all but roar out with a boggart in the works.

Episode 4: Up, up and away!
The Sabden syrup seekers try and export their glutinous produce beyond the valley. The professor builds a balloon to spy out the best route for an export drive. However, Ike Mitton's efforts to get it down again, leaves its reluctant passenger, PC Pendle, tree-tangled and terrified.

Episode 5: Double digging
If at first you don't succeed, give up! Having failed to export treacle from the valley by balloon, our sticky heroes decide to dig a tunnel. With Ike and Tapper doing the digging, aided by a bunch of Boggarts, what can go wrong?

Episode 6: It must be fête
Our friendly folk hold an ill-fated fête, with over competitive competitors, misjudged judging and a band that should have been banned!

Episode 7: Stormy weather
Rain stops play. Wizzle goes to rescue Moobark and ends up trapped in a ginger beer flood.

Episode 8: Revolting Boggarts
There's trouble in the village when the Boggarts revolt and run riot in Bessie. Luckily, Silas is there to negotiate. More luckily, Rosie is there to stop him...

Episode 9: What's the drill
The Professor uses his latest invention, the 'frothmatic turbo drill', to cause chaos, tunnel through treacle, wreck rocks and boldly go where no Baines-Pilling has gone before!

Episode 10: Sticky like us
The Professor's super sticky treacle vapour has everybody stuck up. Will the villagers stick it out and get unstuck?

Episode 11: Where's Charlie?
Charlie goes to seek his fortune, but only finds misfortune when he ends up at Nellie Newchurch's Perfect Parkin Parlour.

Episode 12: Slippery slopes
There's no business like snow business. Is it all down hill from here as Silas tries to make a fortune out of Waffles!

Episode 13: Show up for the showdown
Will our sticky heroes survive the village show and what will they do with 300 tons of candyfloss?
