Teens on Trial

Aims

The programme aims to give teenagers the opportunity to:

  • Discuss freely how they view underage binge drinking
  • Explore the effects of alcohol on the defendant and the people around her
  • Have the responsibility to decide on an appropriate treatment / punishment for binge drinking
  • Gain an insight into the how legal system views underage drinking and the fact that it is illegal to buy or be sold alcohol

Learning outcomes

  • This case will outline the extent of teenage underage drinking
  • The legal consequences of underage drinking
  • A look into the consequences of being intoxicated such as accidents, violent or abusive behaviour
