‘I think it would have been obvious if I did something glamorous for my self-portrait
– something to do with music or more flashy, material things. So I thought no, I thought
about what shaped me. When you’re 15, especially being a male, it’s the most difficult
time in your life and I had a tough time, so getting my first job was really important
to me – you find out more about yourself. My self-portrait says that I will not be pigeonholed
and stereotyped, if I hadn't done what I’d done when I was 15, I don't know if I'd have
had the motivation to do what I'm doing now.’
