Evelyn Glennie
My self-portrait through sound is something thats improvised. What Id like to convey
is a sense of moving, a kaleidoscope feeling where nothing is fixed at all. My self-portrait
is very fluid, I visualise water a lot, I love the freedom and strength that water has,
you cant damage water. Every time I pick my sticks up and play a piece, even if its
for the hundredth time, theres something there that changes, I like that feeling, so
water is very important to me. Being a musician, you have to almost be like water, you've
just got to completely open your mind up, knowing that it's going to change.
