Testing is an essential part of the design process. It takes place before, during and after any design is made. In the case of the Vexed Parka, the 'smart' fabric technology was tested to extremely high standards by the Ministry of Defence who supplied it. The coat was also tested by the manufacturers in scientific wearer trials. But perhaps the most important test results come from the people who actually bought and wear the coat every day. Vexed Generation told us that one wearer who was attacked in the street raised his sleeved arm to protect his face from a knife attack and received no cut on his body or on the jacket. Another wearer was involved in a road accident and slid several metres after falling from his scooter; he was entirely unharmed, and the Parka was fine too!
