Support materials

The First World War can often seem distant and remote from us; unrelated to our own community. These printable materials hopefully will help bridge that gap. They have all been written by experienced teachers, and are effective 'stand-alone' activities. Equally, with a little research, they can be adapted and amended to provide some local history pertinent to your own students' needs.

These materials are aimed at teachers, to help them make the most of the Lost Generation website in their teaching in the classroom. They are designed to support work at Key Stage 3, 4 / Standard Grade and beyond as appropriate. Topics have been carefully chosen to provide a stimulus for students doing their own research into the impact of the First World War on their own community.
