that support Careers for 14-19 year olds.
Students visit a variety of virtual work environments, read case studies about real people, and take quizzes that test their knowledge of the world of work. Areas covered include finding a job, health and safety, work experience and interview technique.
Aims:
During this activity students will learn about the finer details
of the world of work. They'll meet six people with vastly different careers. Students will
find out how they got to where they are today - and what they do now that they've
made it this far. After completing this activity, students should be able to:
- Identify the differences and similarities that exist between jobs in different
fields
- Identify why it is important for a person to work in a job that is suited
to his or her career personality
- Understand the steps they will need to undertake to find a job that suits
their personality.
This personality test helps students identify what types of careers may be suitable based on their skills, interests and personality. Whether it is working outdoors, care work, or retail, this activity will help students narrow the choices available.

of possible careers. After completing this activity students should be able to:
- Describe their 'career personality'
- Understand how their personality is related to the concept of job satisfaction
- Identify some of their key strengths and weaknesses
- Shortlist a range of careers that are particularly suited to them
When teenagers were asked what they needed to learn more about
in schools, money management came top of the list. Even ahead of sex education!
This simulation game helps students manage their personal finances.
Aims:
During this activity students will get to have a trial run at their first year of university. After completing the activity students should be able to:
- Identify what pressures they'll face as a first-year university student
- Discuss how best to manage their money and time
- Understand that being a successful student means that they have to find the balance between having fun and being a bookworm
