I'm afraid I'll be bullied if I tell people I'm gay/lesbian
It's a sad fact that homophobia – dislike of gays and lesbians – is behind a lot of bullying in secondary schools, and can cause huge suffering to kids on the receiving end. The problem needs to be sorted out across the whole school, and there are lots of things the teachers and governors can do to improve matters. The first step is for the school to acknowledge that there is a problem for gay and lesbian kids. The website of Stonewall has a downloadable leaflet, Education for All, that you could give to a teacher you trust to start the ball rolling.
