Keira
Malik plays Melissa Wheeler, the daughter of the new Prime
Minister, whose fate becomes entwined with Max's. Keira appeared in
the BBC thriller, Messiah. Last Rights is her first
major role.
Ashley
Walters plays Max, a streetwise teenager
who gets caught up in a dangerous game of cat and mouse when his best
friend steals John Speers' laptop. Ashley has a string of credits
to his name and has just won the Best Newcomer title in the British
Independent Film Awards for his critically acclaimed debut in Bullet
Boy (2004).
Charles Dance plays
Richard Wheeler, the newly elected Prime Minister for the Democratic Consensus
Party.
He has a long list of credits in a career spanning 30 years, ranging from the
Royal Shakespeare Company
to television roles and acclaimed performances on the big screen. His films
include Gosford Park (2001), Swimming Pool (2003) and The Jewel in the Crown (1984).
Philip
Glenister plays John Speers, the ruthless Party Secretary and Wheeler's
closest aide and ally. He has appeared in many television series, including Island
at War (2004), State of Play (2003) and Vanity Fair (1998),
and played the photographer in the successful comedy film, Calendar Girls (2003).
Stephen Graham plays Steve, a vicious young thug murdered
by government agents. His film appearances include Martin Scorsese's Gangs
of New York (2002) and Snatch (2000).
