Gareth studied at the Royal College of Music, London, and then with Sir Peter Pears at Aldeburgh's Advanced School of Singing and Strings. He has conducted the BBC Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra and many cast recordings.
Gareth was musical supervisor/dance arranger/musical director for Anything Goes at Drury Lane and the Royal National Theatre, and musical supervisor/dance arranger for Tonight's the Night at Victoria Palace. A long, long list of West End theatre credits includes My One and Only, Kiss Me Kate, Merrily We Roll Along, Chicago, Damn Yankees, Nine, Camelot, Company, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Miss Saigon, The Baker's Wife, Cats, Cabaret, Toad of Toad Hall and 42nd Street.
Gareth is due to be musical supervisor of Acorn Antiques in 2005 and is writing the original score for Aladdin, starring Ian McKellen at The Old Vic. As a composer, his Requiem, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, and performed in London, Australia, Scandanavia and the States, has met with international acclaim.
