TREVOR NELSON
Trevor Nelson is presenter of Radio 1's influential Soul Nation R&B show
and has regular slots on MTV. He also stays close to what he calls the
'madness and mayhem' of the live urban scene with extensive club DJing,
and has just returned from a season in Ibiza.
Music has always been his passion, and his energy and drive have established
him as a respected figure in the music industry.
As well as playing classic tracks on Soul Nation he is committed to breaking
new artists.
Trevor started DJing on early big warehouse parties before becoming a regular
on the then pirate Kiss FM. He really made his name playing at the Soul II Soul
Sunday night jam at the Africa Centre, and his friendship with front man Jazzy B
culminated in them setting up the second Soul II Soul shop in London. In 1990
Kiss FM became legal and Trevor was offered both a daytime show as well as a
directorship. In 1996 he moved to Radio 1 to present The Rhythm Nation show.
