FATMAN SCOOP
Fatman Scoop is a hip hop artist and producer, and always on the move.
His weekday 2am-6am show on New York radio station HOT 97 is essential
listening for anyone interested in hip hop and R&B, but he is probably
best known in the UK for the track 'Be Faithful' with the Crooklyn Clan
which went to number one in the charts in late 2003. The song has been
a favourite in clubs around the world for years.
Scoop has a particular interest in UK hip hop and R&B, which
he thinks has its own spin. With Chancers he wants to give a
group of young talented individuals a shot across the Atlantic.
Scoop started out as an intern for Chemistry/Mercury Records and when the
company folded he moved to Tommy Boy Records in 1993. Determined to succeed,
his rise to fame came via voiceovers for rap commercials on radio and television,
appearing in hip hop/rap videos such as The Fugees, Puffy and the Lox and De La
Soul. He modelled hip hop inspired clothes, as well as releasing his own singles.
He is the industry's official hype-man, dedicated to thinking of new and exciting
ways to expand in the music industry
