Details:
Jennifer loves being the centre of attention. She started performing
very young – at eight. Her Mum used to be a singer and was
the one who encouraged her to get into music, although she insists
that she wasn't a pushy parent. Jennifer hated school and admits
to being a bully, but has had a year's private classical training,
and went to a stage school for a year.
Her first performance was a talent showcase for garage artists at the Vibe Bar in
Brick Lane, where EMI and Virgin asked about her – although this went no further
as she was only 14. She got into pirate radio through a boyfriend and went on to
record her own stuff. The first was a cover of Mariah Carey's 'Sweetheart' for
Valentine's Day in 2001. This led to PAs at local raves on the garage scene and
a 19-date UK tour. Despite her age she has a lot of experience on a small scale in
the national garage scene.
She has recently changed direction from garage to R&B, writes her own material and
has had a one-week work placement with Guy Chambers, Robbie's former co-writer.
