The programme
Hip hop has hauled itself from the underground via pirate radio stations and dreams of escape
to a multi-million pound industry. And the pace shows no sign of slowing down. Over eight weeks,
Chancers set out to discover whether the same spark that ignited the urban scene in inner city
America burns as brightly on this side of the Atlantic.
So who are the Chancers? Top US artist Fatman Scoop leads the
search for new UK talent which have taken hip hop and R&B
and made it uniquely British. The series delves into the lives
of young musicians trying to make better lives for themselves,
and after an exhaustive selection process sets the chosen few
on the steepest learning curve of their lives. T4 and 4Learning
have combined forces to create a televisual milestone.
