What to do:

Enjoy this activity together. Read the questions (in bold) to your child.

  • Explain that this is a medal, but the colours are missing. The numbers on the shapes show which colours to use.
  • Where is the triangle?
  • Which number is inside the triangle? (1)
  • Help your child to use the key to discover which colour the triangle will be (blue).
  • Continue with the other shapes (circles, squares, stars).
  • Get your child to colour in the shapes. They could also stick the medal on card, cut it out and attach a ribbon. Let them wear it when a 'brave' occasion arises!
  • This activity will help your child to develop knowledge of shapes and counting skills, part of mathematical development. Colouring with crayons or felt tips also aids fine motor control, part of physical development.
  • Hoobletoodledoo!
