Channel 4: What are you hoping to achieve from Bricking It?
Zac: An apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery and an opportunity to progress higher up the construction ladder.
Channel 4: Is it harder than you expected?
Zac:
Physically, no. Mentally, yes, because as well as us doing the hands-on work we have to do our portfolios and read drawings.
Channel 4: Do you think Bricking It is helping you to work
with other people?
Zac:
Yes, we all have to use key skills such as confidence, motivation, tolerance, teamwork etc to help us get through the project.
Channel 4: Can you name two things you personally contribute to the team?
Zac:
Here's four: leadership, motivation, teamwork and tolerance.
Channel 4: What have you learnt from Bricking It so far?
Zac:
Too much to write down, but the most important thing for me is to be good at what I do - and not some half-trained cowboy carpenter. To be passionate and professional.
Channel 4: What do you think you will do after Bricking It?
Zac:
To be taken on by a carpentry company or carpenter who has the time to teach me the skills I need to become a skilled, passionate carpenter who has the opportunity to move higher up in the construction industry.
