Sophia 'Soaps' Perowne
Soaps has many varied interests including acting and music. She says, “Although I'm smart, university is not for me.” When Soaps first left home she moved into a squat for five months which she feels gave her good life experiences of dealing with people from different backgrounds. It also gave her a chance to get her hands dirty fixing the electrics and water. Soaps is interested in electronics which she studied at school and is now keen to learn from experts. "More of a lad than a girl", she also has a leaning toward carpentry and the thought of a male-orientated building site does not worry her.

Looking Back Interview
Channel 4: Did Bricking It live up to your expectations?
Soaps: I didn't have any expectations as I'd never worked in
construction or been on a TV programme, so I didn't know what to expect.
Channel 4: What was the best thing about Bricking It?
Soaps: I enjoyed the work most. I enjoy starting to work on something and having the sense of achievement when it's finished. I like being hands-on and getting things done.
Channel 4: And the worst thing?
Soaps: I thought there were times when we were spoken to like we were kids.
Channel 4: What was your high point?
Soaps: Getting picked by Dr Phil to help fit the kitchen it was a satisfying thing to do.
Channel 4: And your low point?
Soaps: Being fired.
Channel 4: What do you think you'll do now?
Soaps: I'm going to apply to be a nurse. I will always do construction and make things myself, but I've decided I most want to go into nursing.
Channel 4: Any advice on working in construction?
Soaps: It is a difficult industry to work in, but if you really want it, stick at it. When you're just starting out people are going to be quite hard on you but keep motivated.
Channel 4: And finally
Soaps: I think I did work well, and that the work I did in the flat was to a very high standard.
