Employers
What are apprenticeships all about? | How do they work? | How will apprentices help my business?

How can apprentices help me and my business?

Thousands of businesses have benefited from employing an apprentice. Apprentices attend a structured training programme and learn the skills they need to do the whole job – not just a few of the skills.

When you take on an apprentice you are investing in your business's future. Apprentices are highly motivated to learn the skills that will benefit your business. The fact they can put their skills into practice adds to their job satisfaction; often they are very loyal and retention rates are high.

You'll be able to train them in the core values and ethos of your business right from the start, so they'll be in tune with what makes your business tick and what your customers expect. So from day one an apprentice will be learning how to work in your business, helping it to be more productive and stay competitive.

Construction employers (working with the Sector Skills Council) design the content of the National Vocational Qualification programme, so you'll know it's relevant to your business. You can even negotiate with training providers so the training is tailored towards your individual business's needs, so you reap maximum business benefits, even during the training period.

So enquire about taking on an apprentice today. Before long you'll have highly motivated staff with up-to-date, specialist skills and knowledge to take your business forward in the years to come.
