It's all go on Bricking It as Greg is dismissed, Zac, Hannah and David excel, Laurence and Greg Males disappoint... and Soaps parties all night and sleeps on site!
We took some time out and cornered Dr Phil to give us his thoughts on how it's all going - or not going.
What has been your highlight of the second fix?
It was fantastic to see David and Hannah excel at the formal exams. I was also especially pleased with Lauren. Her results put her at the bottom of the table but she passed, it proved she could do it. That was a turning point for her.
What were the low points?
I hated having to ask Greg Santos to leave the project. He could not get into work on time in the morning and I had heard too many excuses. It was difficult because he had so much to gain from the project. His heart was in the right place but he couldn't departmentalise his personal problems and put them aside from work.
Which trainee's performance were you most impressed by?
Hannah continued to be a solid performer and totally reliable. Zac impressed me. As one of the carpenters he had one of the broadest and most difficult trades to master. In the second fix he listened and kept on trying.
What was your opinion on the trainee's attitude to work?
The team generally just had a lack of reality and little grasp of the world of work. Soaps was living a party lifestyle and didn't understand that if she went out late she needed time to recover for work. She was falling asleep on site and that is dangerous.
How did the group react to leadership and authority?
It was interesting when David was foreman for the day. I suspected the other trainees would nominate him but they rejected his authority. David always thinks ahead but he was also the person the trainees blamed for things going wrong.
Have you seen a transformation of the trainees into professional trades people?
In the second fix I knew we had some really promising plumbers. Hannah and Laurence continued to make a steady and professional improvement. David was excellent as the only trainee electrician.
