With Dr Phil off-site, our trainees need a Foreman, but who will it be? Time for some elections…

With Dr Phil off-site more and more as the project progresses it is decided that a Foreman will be elected from among the trainees.

This Foreman will oversee work until next sign-off. It'll be a demanding job, as there's a lot to get done on-site. Among the work, the kitchen installation needs to be completed, the bathrooms re-tiled, the plumbing finished, doors hung, and the plastering finished.

Dr Phil offers an incentive to the trainees: whoever is elected Foreman will be paid £100 per week. The trainees discuss who will stand for election, and Greg Males tests the support of his work-mates. "I would apply to be the boss but no-one would pick me because of who I am."

David, undeterred by his recent display of managerial incompetence, is also considering standing for election. Hannah too feels that she'd be right for the job. "I think I'd be good for it. I do get on with everyone. Everyone respects me and everyone listens to me."

Greg Males' confidence growing, he follows up some fighting talk with an aggressive poster campaign. 'Vote Greg' signs are posted liberally around the site, and he believes that he's gaining popular support. "The whole site is Greg crazy."

The trainees are expected to make a presentation to the group before votes are cast. In preparation for this Hannah goes to sister's house to practise her speech. Soaps, a late entry, has also decided to stand for election to Foreman, but appears not to have prepared as thoroughly as the others. "Have I written a speech? No. That's pathetic."

Election day dawns. Greg Males arrives dressed to impress and in competitive mood. "Shall we do some politics then people? I didn't put posters up for nothing."

Hannah makes the first speech, promising the trainees teamwork and a good time. Soaps is next, and contradicts her earlier disdain for prepared speeches by reading hers verbatim.

David delivers a tepid address, with uncharacteristic humility. "In reality I might not be the best person for the job." Greg Males is similarly self-aware, but gets off to a rocky start. "I'm not very sensible, health conscious, or planning."

However, he soon finds his oratorial voice. "I think I've got mutual respect from most of you. And I respect you as well. I will come up trumps. Let's get this done and have some fun."

The votes are cast, and Dr Phil reveals the results. Hannah wins a by a single vote, and is congratulated by Dr Phil and the group. But once the flush of success has faded away, Hannah is daunted by her new responsibility. "I hope Dr Phil will respect that I will be a bit slow. I will make mistakes. I'm only human. Next week is going to be murder."
