The flat will be going on the market in less than 4 weeks time for more than £350,000. It needs to look absolutely perfect but the remaining 6 trainees can't be bothered.
Greg seems more than happy to take the title of being the worst 'cutter in' out of all of the trainees, having blatantly painted what should be a white ceiling, with blotches of dark red paint. He doesn't seem to care. Laurence has managed to get paint on the £16,000 kitchen and finds himself getting the same dark paint over the ventilation grill.
And to cap it all on one day, Zac decides not to turn up at all. He calls Dr Phil and tells him it's a family problem.
When he's back on site the following day, he's more candid about why he hasn't shown up. "I had to change and exhaust and a manifold on a mini… I could have come in. I had the choice but he needed my help more than they did, and I knew it was only painting and decorating."
After telling Phil what he was doing on his self appointed day off, Zac seems stunned that, rather than praising his mechanical skills, Phil fires straight in with "what the hell was all that about?". Phil's furious. He tells him in no uncertain terms that he needs to pull his weight for the rest of the project and gives him a verbal warning.
Zac's first warning has cost the team a further £500 out of their bonus.
