Soaps pushes Dr. Phil too far and pays the ultimate price.
Watch the videoSoaps is already on a written warning for poor attendance. In Hannah's week of being the foreman, Soaps keeps texting her at 3 in the morning to say that she's not well. All the other trainees are aware that Soaps has been loving London's nightlife, and her early morning texts saying she's too ill to work are making them more than suspicious.
Greg's clearest on why Soaps has got a hacking cough. "You can't get that ill unless you're running your body down and that would be her going out every night and not sleeping and not eating properly".
When Soaps comes back in, Phil pulls her into the office to find out what's been going on. He's not just interested in what happened last week his questions go further "Why are you here, I mean, what exactly do you want to achieve?". Dr Phil puts Soaps on a final warning a probation period of 2 weeks when she needs to turn up on time and stick to the site rules, or she will face the sack.
With Soaps on probation one transgression and she could be off. Despite how they feel towards her, the other trainees are going to be relying on Soaps in painting and decorating. She's the only one who's shown good skills from the start, and the only trainee taking it seriously. "People take an impression from what they can see and touch. If the decorating is done badly, it's doesn't give the flat a good overview."
The trainees have a meeting with Soaps to try and pull things together and air their grievances about her attendance. Hannah warns "Don't screw up your future for just a good night out."
But these words don't have a lasting effect on Soaps. It's another early morning and Soaps is late again. Half an hour after the other trainees head off to site Soaps arrives. Despite her good intentions of turning up for an 8am start, it isn't easy on less than 5 hours sleep.
"I had no idea what I did last night, I honestly don't remember. I quite like it that way."
On the basis of one good night too many Soaps is pulled into Dr Phil's office. She dives straight in "I hope you're not going to say what I think you are " And he is. Soaps is off Bricking It.
Soaps seems in shock she tells David "That's the first time I've been fired. Everyone always loves me". She's ready to shake off what she sees as her site persona "I can go back to being me now, not some boring, stupid, horrible old cow."
