OK, here's THE BRIEF.

You've got six months to transform an empty warehouse into a to-die-for apartment...

Oh yeah, and you've got ten trainees who've never lived away from home let alone set foot on a real building site to help you pull it off!

Can it be DONE?

Bricking It follows a group of ten 18–20 year olds as they try to build a high-spec apartment alongside the Thames in just six months. It's a tall order for experienced builders but none of our trainees have any real experience of the building trade. In fact, for some this is their first time away from home.

Green they may be, but they are not completely on their own. With the guidance of our 'master craftsmen' and project manager Dr Phil Ashton, they have six tough months to learn their trades, work as a dream team and create a top-notch apartment out of NOTHING.

From raver to down-to-earth plumber, from ex-lag to posh lad, our trainees will get to know each other, to like each other, to work together – and to dislike each other. Along the way they will learn real skills from plastering to plumbing, electrics to painting and decorating, as well as those key life skills that we all need to get ahead like getting to work on time, leadership and financial responsibility.

Can they learn and master the necessary skills, put in the effort and deliver the results? Can our team of master craftsmen and project manager uncover the talent and motivation that will turn these green teens into skilled, employable adults?

And will the delights of 8am starts, steel-capped boots and fluorescent jackets be enough to distract them from the lure of London's nightlife, lie-ins and daytime TV?
