Rough for Theatre 1

Background >

Setting

The action is confined to a derelict street corner where everything is in ruins. There is nothing to distract either the players or the audience from focusing on the predicament that afflicts both characters.

What light there is is wintry grey and sunless, though for one sightless character there is only the permanent depressing hours of darkness:

A: I spend the night here … I used to feel twilight gather and make myself ready … I was always as I am … I was always as I am, crouched in the dark.
