Talking Heads

Aims

Talking Heads is aimed at a range of audiences within schools: headteachers, middle and senior managers, and teachers at different stages of their careers. It is for those who are considering the career path towards headship as well as those who feel it is not for them. It provides a starting point for discussion of many critical issues concerned with leadership, management and raising achievement. It also has a potential wider relevance to local authorities, academics, researchers and training organisations.

The programme sets out to:

  • offer authentic and candid personal insights into the experience of headship
  • stimulate discussion and debate about different leadership and management styles and their impact on the culture of the school and raising achievement
  • encourage reflection on individual practice and action planning for professional development
