Langage of Scottish Natioun?
Aims
Pupils will:
- recognise that Scotland was a very European country in medieval times and many European languages were spoken there;
- discover that Scots was a language with high status and spoken by royalty;
- learn about Scots literature from the past;
- be introduced to the Border Scots dialect;
- raise their awareness of the diversity of viewpoints and issues surrounding the Scots language today.
