Programme Aims
The key aims of this programme are to:
- introduce the viewer to the history of recorded sound
- explore the effect Edison's invention had on western music
- show how the advent of recorded sound changed the perceptions and expectations of the listener
- show how developments in contemporary music of all genres are indebted to this invention
