• Considering the huge public interest in Egyptian history at the time of Belzoni’s work, how would the London press have reported the arrival of the Pharaoh’s head at the British Museum? Write the headline and leader column describing the event. Consider whether Belzoni would get any mention at all.
• Imagine being an Ancient Egyptian traveller who visits the British Museum and sees the Rosetta Stone and the head of Pharaoh Rameses II. Through role-play, show how these artefacts were carved or sculpted and write a description of this to display on the exhibit.
