Activities
Before viewing
- Pupils discuss what sort of place they'd keep James in if they wanted him to be a prisoner.
After viewing
- Pupils discuss what sort of secret message James might have sent out to friends. They then write their own version of this message.
- Pupils study pictures of castles of the time. They then design and draw or paint their idea of a picture called 'The prisoner in the castle'.
- What appropriate words can pupils think of to describe:
a) the castle? b) James' feelings? They write these words around their picture.
- Culross is added to pupils' maps.
