Not I

Setting

Annihilating darkness permeates the stage and already engulfs Mouth. Faint light falls on only Mouth's mouth, suspended in and almost overwhelmed by the void. Downstage, another figure too is only dimly perceptible.

The intimacy of the screen production, with shots restricted to big close-ups on the intensely lit mouth spitting words into the darkness and the camera constantly cutting excitedly from angle to angle, subjects Mouth to even greater scrutiny by her audience. Appropriately artful too is the director's hotseating of the character for the intense confrontation that ensues.
