Feeding the Spoats

Programme Outline

Counting on and back in hundreds in 2-digit and 3-digit numbers

The Spoats, space goats, eat Sam’s football, and Amber decides they must be hungry. Each Spoat need 100 pellets, which are automatically fed in hundreds from a dispenser. They work out that they need 400 pellets for the four Spoats. However the indicator is stuck on 12, and the children do not know what to do. They call Numberella who suggests trying to count in hundreds from different starting numbers, and she demonstrates this by using a number stick.
