• Count on and back in tens orally from numbers such as 0, 10, 50 100 and so on. Then change the starting numbers to ones like 6, 15, 51, 102. Hundred-squares and a counting stick are good resources to use.
• Use number cards in games to make number sequences, which grow in tens or hundreds.
• Calculator displays are useful to show how numbers change.
