Never Never
Aims
Programme 3 continues to develop the financial themes raised in the previous two programmes of Looking after the Penneys, and has common aims. The learning outcomes identified for episode 1 and 2 can be used again. However learning activities could be designed to achieve different aims and specific outcomes.
- to give further insight into the family’s attitudes to personal financial management
- to help students to continue to consider their own attitudes to managing their finances
- to encourage students to investigate sources of information about a variety of financial issues
- to increase students’ knowledge, understanding and skills for managing their own money now and in the future.
Learning outcomes
As a result of watching the programme and using the material in the Net Notes students should be able to:
- consider their own attitudes to managing money, compared with those of the Penney family
- investigate the different methods of buying a car and analyse the advantages and disadvantages of some of them
Notes
If time is available, more learning outcomes could be achieved. Several financial topics are covered – see Activities for Students, and the Financial Services Authority’s website: http://www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/schools/index.html
