Aims

 

To show why emigration is so common in Northern Portugal, looking at:

  • the attractions and disadvantages of life in the Douro valley
  • the personal stories of young people who have left to find work
  • why some choose to stay despite the lack of opportunity
  • how the region is beginning to develop
