http://www.scotshistory.org/index.asp
This is a very useful site with the added bonus of a History Quick Link search facility. For our purposes the History section was the most relevant, but Exhibitions & Events, Web Resources and Publications are also highlighted.

http://www.scottishhistory.com/summary.htm
Contains a rather dry but worthy summary of the period.

The most varied and probably the most popular with students are two similarly titled sites:

http://www.macbraveheart.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm
http://www.braveheart.co.uk/

Both can be faulted for some superficial content but they also contain a wealth of easily accessible and attractively presented information.

As was said at the beginning, this is an area of history heavily provided on the web - get searching but, like the detective in the programme, be prepared to be critical and selective.
