• to develop knowledge and understanding of the main events, personalities and issues involved in the Scottish Wars of Independence
• to develop an understanding of the importance of historical evidence and sources
• to develop an ability to evaluate such evidence critically
• to develop an understanding of the work of a historian - specifically the needs to organise, evaluate and reach conclusions
• to select and synthesise information from the programme and apply that knowledge accurately within the activities provided
