Aims
To show how:
- the aerodynamics of ‘ground effect’ make possible a new breed of flying machines, known as wing-in-ground-effect (WIG) craft
- design ideas from one field can be transferred and applied in another
- scientific inventions can be put to a range of uses, both civilian and military
- funding is crucial to the success of design projects
