- Gridlocked: 'Gridlock' refers to extreme traffic congestion in which roads in all directions, often a grid network, are blocked. It is a major problem in Bangkok. The term is derived from US cities, most of which are built on a grid plan. This site contains a detailed description of the Thai economy, including the problems of traffic in Bangkok.
