Emotional Problems
Introduction
We can help children with a variety of problems by creating a story. Hearing about boys and girls or animal characters in situations similar to their own increases children’s confidence and encourages them to solve their problems. When we present our ideas and instructions in story form we create a magical place for children to interact in a cooperative way with adults. Sarah used the Whammi tale to sort out her emotions and problems. By creating her own story, she increased her ability to think about her own situation and decide what to do about it.
