Programme 5: Nathan Coley – Project based artwork

Aims

The last programme aims to give children an understanding of the work of a contemporary artist whose methods do not fit within a traditional category. Through Nathan’s work, the programme communicates the idea that art does not always need to be visual or precious. The artist has created a project at Kielder Reservoir in Northumberland that can be easily translated into an activity for the classroom. This will inspire creativity and introduce consideration of ideas and contemporary methods practiced by artists today.
