Programme Outline

The programme begins with children from other European counties offering stereotypical views about the United Kingdom: its people, its customs and its weather. The lives of four British children are then presented in turn. Rory is black, enjoys sport and lives with her mum in a tower block in London. Tom, whose dad is a gamekeeper, lives in rural Wales and is a real country boy who nevertheless enjoys venturing into the nearest town’s disco. Ella lives in the south east of England. She is a vegan and loves animals. Jeevan is a British Sikh who lives in Edinburgh. He likes watching television and playing in a drumming band.
