The Mischievous Pozzle

Programme Outline

Knowing by heart the facts for the 2-, 5- and 10 times tables

Sam and Amber are watching the Wattbots counting bars of metal in twos. They notice that they seem to know their 2-times table off by heart. But the children are puzzled by the Wattbots' vocabulary and Botler confuses them more. Numberella explains that '2 times ', '2 multiplied by 2' and 'two twos' all mean the same. They also notice that the Wattbots seem to know the 5-times table as well. A Pozzle, which is dog-like creature, causes chaos by upsetting the piles of 5, and Sam and Amber have difficulty in reorganising them into fives and counting them up. Numberella shows them that counting in fives is the same as the 5-times table, and that sometimes it is easier to count in tens and halve the result.
